We are so glad that you have taken time to visit our website and are getting to know us better.

We are a Historic Southern Baptist church located in the horse country of Woodford Co. Kentucky.  The church is located at 1220 old Frankfort Pike in Versailles, Kentucky which is just minutes from downtown Versailles, Lexington, Georgetown, and Frankfort.  The landscape surrounding the church is dotted with hills and pastures that are home to some of the worlds best thoroughbred horses and while the scenery is great we believe the people are even better.

Our church was established in 1822 and we are looking forward to celebrating our 200 year anniversary in just a few years.  We were blessed in 1874 to have James P. Boyce and John A. Broadus both preach in our facility and were able to donate to the cause of moving The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary to Louisville. Although our history is important to us, we believe that what God will do in the next 200 years is even more important and we look forward to and embrace the challenges and changes that are to come.

Our congregation is striving to be a multi-generational congregation and it is our desire to honor God by connecting all people to Jesus Christ and serving the world for Jesus’ sake.  Ultimately, our desire is for everyone to come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and LORD because He is worthy of all of our worship.

Feel free to contact us with any questions or, better yet, come check us out in person and see what God is up to in our community.  We would love to sit down and answer any questions you might have.

Mark 12:30–31 (ESV):

30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

We want people to be madly and deeply in love with God and with people, because they are the image bearers of God. We don’t want them to love with the same love that the world has, but with a Christ-like love that is selfless.

Hello, I am Pastor Dave and I was called to be the Pastor of Mt. Vernon on November 22nd of 2015.     I have been happily married to my wife Natalie since 2002.  We have three sons who keep us busy with academics, sports, and well, life.

I am a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary as of December 2017.  Both Natalie and I grew up in the Central KY area living the majority of our life in Georgetown.  We have many family members who live in the area and are so blessed that God has called us to be able to serve near our home town.

Having our Kids so near to their grandparents is blessing to them and also to Natalie and myself.  Grandparents are truly a gift from God especially on those busy days when you need a kid or two picked up from school.  We would love for you to come join us at Mt. Vernon as we strive to follow Christ and the call he put up on our lives.
